The Underglobe (excerpts from “Symbolism in the Underglobe” by Erin Sorensen, page 37)

”The underglobe space is decorated with symbols relating to alchemy, astrology, astronomy, the kabbalah and other ancient and mystical symbolic systems which Shakespeare and the decorators of the theatres were familiar”

”The Underglobe decoration is an abstracted, contemporary, purified representation of the symbolism of the historic stage decoration. This includes areas dedicated to the physical and metaphysical planes, and the transition between the two. This representation uses colour, finishes, and space in a symbolic way.....”
